Membership Update

An e-mail “August 1 Membership Update” went out to all members via e-mail.  A number of addresses for members who we have frequent contact with and that we found no apparent reason for were rejected as “undeliverable.”  Many other addresses were rejected because the mail box was full or the address has changed.  If you have an e-mail address on file with the ATC office you should have received this update.  It is extremely important that all members keep their e-mail addresses current with the ATC office.  If you have not received the e-mailed update, please contact the ATC office so that we can update your information in our database.

Upcoming Events

Cruising the Mexican Riviera with the ATC! Norwegian Cruise Line just announced that there are still cabins available in all categories at our original brochure prices for the ATC's October 24, 2008, 12-day sailing onboard the Norwegian Sun round trip out of San Francisco.  Visit Mazatlan, Acapulco, Zihuatenejo /Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas.  Balconies starting at $1515/person, plus an added fuel surcharge of approximately $99/person.  If you would like to join us on this fun filled cruise, call Cyndi or Kris at Golden Gate Tours (800) 874-4345 right away as I don't know how long these cabins will remain available.  A hint to the wise--don't leave a voice message for Cyndi on her telephone.  She is extremely busy so the best way to connect with her is to have the agent who answers the phone place a note on her desk asking that she call you back.

Dometic RECALL NOTICE -- Dometic Voluntarily Expands Refrigerator Recall

Dometic recently expanded their recall on some two-door refrigerators.  The original recall included two-door refrigerators manufactured between April 1997 and May 2003.  This expansion of the recall includes two-door refrigerators manufactured between June 2003 and September 2006.  To find out if your refrigerator is in this recall, you can visit the Dometic website and enter the model and 8-digit serial number of your Dometic refrigerator.  You may also contact Dometic by phone at 800-544-4881.

ATC 2008 Photo Contest Winners

Congratulations to the ATC photo contest winners and a special thank you to our panel of judges.   We again had many outstanding photos submitted by our members.   As usual the eight judges had a hard time selecting their favorites and were very complementary of the photographers’ works.   The results of the top three places will be on display at Alpenfest and winners will be receiving their prize along with a beautiful, copy of the photo ready for framing.   The photos along with the Honorable Mentions can be viewed at Photo Contests.

WRV Closes - Alpenlite Travel Club Goes Forward With Plans For Scheduled 2008 Events!

WRV has closed its doors and has suspended operations. The first obvious question for our members is just what this means to the Alpenlite Travel Club. Let us assure you that the ATC is continuing to do business as usual. No events on our calendar are affected and all Regional Rallies, Alpenfest, Fiddler Rally, Seafood Caravan, Balloon Fiesta Rally, and Fall Leaf Festival will be put on as scheduled. The ATC operates, is incorporated, and is insured separate from WRV thus their closure does not impact our day to day operations. However, this does mean the loss of a substantial amount of our income in the dues-support matching dollars of membership dues that the ATC received from WRV. This has an immediate impact on the ATC and will be the key topic of discussion at the annual meeting at Alpenfest. This issue has the full attention of the board which is working to develop and outline ideas and address a plan.
